Disneyland Paris and its beautiful hotel facilities, hotel New Port Bay Club with its convention halls, restaurants and the Disney Village with its famous Billy Bob’s Country Western Saloon & was the perfect place to organize the first seminar dedicated to Country European market. Very interested in a seminar which allowed us to measure differences between country markets 7 countries Europeans. A survey was even conducted in February 2013 among 1000 persons aged 18-65 years in each country concerned. The percentage of adults who listen to country music regularly through YouTube and Spotify is 43% in Norway, 41% in Ireland, 32% in the UK, 24% in Sweden, 29% in Germany, 25% in France and 18% in Finland!

You noticed the countries with the strongest results in terms of public interest in country music in Europe are the United Kingdom and Norway. Our Scandinavian neighbors and British luckier than us in France, because Country music going on television. Multiple shows in Nashville as CMA Awards CMA Music Fest or are regularly retransmit. Not to mention the series Nashville who is also a hit. Well then in his country there, spend a lot more country music on the radio and in particular the public service radios.

This is absolutely not the case here. In France, apart from a country radio FM in Paris, they are mostly radio stations, commercial or very late hours and some independent facilitators who are passionate about the work that should provide the public service Radio France who always wanted to banish it genre of its network or other Blue France. Fortunately there are some programs that country spend on local radio or regional here and there, everywhere in France, as we do every week through our network of 120 partner stations BCC.

Otherwise it is sure there would be little to Country Radio France. The CMA seminar allowed us to measure the level difference, the gulf that exists between the media Country of Americans, Canadians, Australians and English and the rest of old Europe. Debates and discussions were held in order to find solutions to improve our weaknesses. The purpose of the CMA is implementing a new network to promote Country music today outside the U.S. and especially in Europe. We have done many meetings with journalists, DJ’s, festival organizers, Media, Radio, Television, Artists, developers from around the world. Short day business really successful!

And of course from 20H we enjoyed the first French edition of the CMA Songwriter’s series on the site of Billy Bob’s Country Western Saloon – and entry was free for all! First, there was a 100% acoustic show with the best singers and songwriters in Nashville, I met Bob Dipiero, Dallas Davidson, Sugarland’s Kristian Bush and not to forget Brett James who have obviously interpreted Live hits they have written for stars such as Luke Bryan, Kenny Chesney, Carrie Underwood, of course the duo Sugarland or Trace Adkins and many more!

This show was followed by another great concert featuring the very talented group, the Carlton Moody Franco-American Detour Band. Unforgettable. We hope that this very successful first seminar of the CMA will be the first of a long series to build a real bridge between Nashville and Europe enabling us to applaud even more Country artists!
