Bob Dee is back with his band Petro with their new single Tell Me, which is lifted from their new album Up All Night.

I caught up with Bob to discuss the single, the reaction to the album and what lies ahead.

-Tell Me is the new single so what can we expect from the track?

This song is like an adrenaline rush, it feels like a rollercoaster So many emotions coming out, the fans are going to love it

-This track is off the new album Up All Night so how does the track introduce us to the rest of the record?

I wanted to start with the single this time, just total rock from the time the listener presses play to the very last note, to set the tone for the record

-There is a real pop/rock feel to the track so what can you tell us about the sound of the rest of the album for those who haven’t heard it yet?

I tried to make it like a storybook, with high’s and low’s. It starts out with a power rocker, then a pop single, a sexy ballad and then ending with a few rockers to hit home

– The album is already out so how have you found the response to the new tracks so far?

This by far has been my best seller I am so pleased with the results I just want to keep playing and make my fans excited about seeing my band live.

– So what inspires you to write? I was reading that the first line of this track ‘Throw a rock in the water, watch it ripple inside of me’. Was the catalyst for the rest of the track?

Yes, I was just having one of those days trying to get my feelings out. It is hard sometimes to make people listen to what I have to say. I tend to keep it all built up inside of me. So I let my music do the talking

– So how does the writing process work within the band – are you the main songwriter or do the other guys chip in as well?

I am the main songwriter, I take the finished song into rehearsals then we work on the song’s structure, and then into the studio.

– What sort of music/bands/artists are you enjoying at the moment?

I am enjoying a female artist by the name of Nikki Lane and the new Jack White album

– Bullets and Bandaids is one of your past albums so how have you seen yourself develop as a musician in that time and as a band?

That album was so successful. My video ‘Outta My Face# was directed by MoMo Money a Malaysian director, he placed my video on MTV/ASIA.

After that release, we just kept touring and touring, it made us all start playing better and my voice grew stronger

– You have a growing fan base all over the world so for any fans reading this interview do you have a message for them?

I wanted to say thank you so much for your support and I look forward to playing for you this summer

– Finally what’s coming up for you in the rest of 2012?

We are trying to make a ten minute film along with the new video to submit to film festivals, play as much as we can throughout the year and then go back into the studio.
